Spokesperson: Law enforcers search Amurstal plant of Torex

VLADIVOSTOK, Nov 19 (PRIME) -- Law enforcers have searched steel plant Amurstal, owned by Torex Group’s subsidiary Torex-Khabarovsk, a spokesperson for the plant told PRIME on Tuesday.

A source in the law enforcement authorities of the Khabarovsk Region told PRIME that investigative activities were held at the Torex offices in the region without disclosing the reason for searches.

“The law enforcers were actually here on the territory of the company. The searches are connected with several suppliers of scrap metal, and the plant provided all the necessary documents. The tax authorities also have these documents. All management and personnel are at their workplaces, the plant is still operating, there were no suspensions,” the plant’s spokesperson said.

Regional media reported that investigators launched inspections at Torex as the group of companies allegedly created several firms to inflate prices for scrap metal artificially.
